new journal pages. inspired.

i have been working on many journal pages lately. creating a new practice over here of painting daily. last week mindy lacefield and i taught three days of painting, along with liz lamoreux adding in her way with words. watching each chick get into this amazing groove, was pure happy, to say the least. i loved being able to sit with mindy and the others, talking about each page, adding new bits here and there. i tend to paint in a more “graphic” style and mindy paints from a “childs” view. i love that and i had so much fun allowing the inner little girl to play more. loose patterns began to emerge and watching this kitty come to form, well giddy might be a good way to explain how i felt.

on the way back from our road trip to the sound, sasha (assistant extraordinaire) made the comment about how sitting in the classroom with each girl singing, painting and dancing being a very happy moment  -  truly summed up the whole journey of unearth. allowing ourselves to loosen up, shed the remains of this sometimes heavy life is so freeing.
we need more of that everyday. and for me personally, to be able to sit in a room with other creatives by my side and painting together allowed me to open up and paint with such ease, i never do that in my own studio. collaboration and community is where my creativity soars!

i love how this journal page turned out!  so ready to get back to the studio and resume the daily painting.
