tell your story. here.

tell your story. here.
a girl.
sun-soaked & squinting at the road left behind.
recognizing bitter moments of a comformists sly grin.
a girl.
twirling around the sweetness she fondly remembers
she picks through each slice, dissecting the true. she picks
away at the layers discovering a juicy center.
a girl.
sun-soaked & wide open.
she hops on the banana seat peddling like hell.
she moves ahead.

. . . . . . .

until i began hanging out with liz lamoreux, i never considered myself as a writer. i so often struggle with the words. i really struggle with the grammar, i mean really! but with each retreat i attend and even when she asked me to write a short poem about me, for her book, inner excavation i wanted to crawl in a hole! but the more she gave me word prompts and showed me easy ways to find new words and subjects, line by line i wrote more freely.
the past few months, between my blog, chickadee road posts and many guest posts, i have this feeling of ease when i have a deadline that needs to be met. so why i am telling you this? simple. if you want to find your words. to sit with others in search for their own i want you to consider (more) POEM IT OUT. liz has the simple way of allowing you to find the words, your words and before you know it – you are writing your story. pure heaven. truly.
i have probably a dozen little poems that i have written over the last couple of years. i hold them closely in a little pocket that holds many of my stories. these shine with a bit of extra pride.
